A Single Sign-On login to one Studentnet service provides
immediate,
transparent and secure access to the other authorised services for
that login identity. See how it works! Note: these are Demo Sites - feel
free to play - you can't damage anything.
Demo 1: Easy Access
Demo 1: Use SSO as a student to access the Moodle learning system, then
jump to your school Nextmail services or Joomla content platform,
without further logins.
in as a student at the Moodle demo site.
- Click on "Login" at the top right-hand corner of the screen.
- At the top of the left-hand column click on the link labelled: "Log in using Studentnet NextMail Single Sign On".

- You are now logged into Moodle as the user "Student
Example" - see your name at the top right-hand corner.
- Keep this Moodle page open, and click here to open other
services, e.g. the Nextmail demo site. Optionally you can also access a
Joomla demo
site - Please note that Joomla requires you to select the Studentnet Identity Provider and then click on the Login button. .
- Notice how you didn't have to login again? A single sign-on
gives you full
access to all of the SSO-linked services for "Student Example".

the 'Quiet Inspection' facility.

- This time, place a check mark in the
'Quiet Inspection' checkbox, before clicking on "Save".
- A record of the use of 'Quiet Inspection' is
maintained automatically by Nextmail.
- Now you have 30 minutes to log into and check Student Example's
Nextmail account, using the new password you have established.
- After 30 minutes, Student Example's password will automatically
revert back to its original value.
- Unless the student attempts to log in within the 30 minute period,
the student will be unaware of the inspection.
