The Studentnet®Superlayer

Studentnet® is a 'Superlayer' - an interface between smoothness and turbulence* - offering control and configuration in managing ICT resources.

Studentnet® applications are integrated with Single Sign-On (SSO), which allows login through any one facility to provide access to all of the others, remotely or locally.

A single login to one Studentnet service provides immediate, transparent and secure access to the other authorised services for that login identity. Benefits:

  • Easy access: school email is accessible via Nextmail, or through the Nextsphere environments (Moodle learning, Joomla content, or Apache server).
  • Password control: a password change via one facility is instantly implemented in all the others.
  • Administrator configuration: passwords can be set up and changed in bulk (for annual intakes), for groups or for individuals.
  • Administrator supervision: the 'Quiet Inspection' facility allows for integrity checking and tracking of misuse.
